![]() If you have any ideas other than Epson's – that the scanner is not working as it should – whether about Mojave or any other Apple issue, I would appreciate your input.Ĭanon LIDE 110 scanner not working on clean install of Big Sur, works on Upgraded Catalina to Big Sur In my home we have a M1 MBP, and initially attempted to use the Canon scanner with the new computer, no go. Besides, I'm not ready to get a new computer, so if I can just deal with the issue of the error message now, I'll be very grateful. This same problem seems not to be unusual with quite a few older scanner models, and I don't know that the newer ones would work with my current computer. I really don't want to have to buy a new scanner, if I don't have to. Might the problem have to do with something else about my computer? I know that you all can't address issues with the scanner itself, but can you think of any way that the Mac itself, or the OS software might be affecting what is happening? Should I try to go back to Sierra, for example? I have to call Apple, in the hope of undoing the multiple weird problems I've had with Mojave, but I'm hoping not to have to go that route, but can just reinstall it. They suggested that I get a new scanner, but if there is anything else that I can try (they only suggested the basic things that a user can find everywhere), I want to do that. I've talked at considerable length and twice with Epson Support (they are pathetic though very pleasant), and they have finally concluded that something is wrong with the scanner, even though it goes on beautifully, and the green light that stays on until I click on Epson Scan seems to indicate that the connection with the wall socket is fine. It used to happen, but rarely, through several versions of the Mac OS, including when I still used Sierra, but since I've gone to Mojave (which has given me many other serious problems), I get the message all the time along with the flashing orange light, which comes on after clicking on "Epson Scan." Epson claims they still support the Ventura OS.ĭoes anyone have a work-around or can they recommend high definition scanners that work seamlessly with Macs?Įpson V500 Photo scanner error "can't communicate." I've tried everything I've seen, here and everywhere I've looked at online (yes, including trying a different USB cable, disconnecting everything for a while and putting it back in, and more) to learn how to get my Epson Perfection V500 scanner to stop giving me the message about my MacBook Pro (with Retina Display) being unable to connect with the scanner. I have had the exact same issue with HP scanners, however in this case, HP had stopped updating their drivers for the model of scanner I owned. Has anyone else had this issue with Epson V600 scanners?ġ) Downloaded and installed the latest V600 driver for Mac OS VenturaĢ) Checked the system settings and the scanner was detected by my MacBook Proģ) There is a flashing orange error light on the front panel of the V600 scannerĤ) Epson customer service were unable to solve the problem ![]() Despite the fact, the manufacturer says that it is compatible with the Ventura OS, I cannot operate the scanner with my 13 inch MacBook Pro (OS Ventura 13.4). ![]() Has anyone else experienced compatibility issues with new scanners and Mac OS Ventura 13.4 (and previous OS versions and updates) I just purchased an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner. It may have been a noisy USB hub, but right now I have *exactly* the same equipment powered up that saw the V370 working perfectly and the V600 is still failing. I did have similar sorts of problems some years ago but do not remember how they were resolved. Note that prior to replacing my desk I probably had not done any scanning for maybe a month, but up to that time the V370 had worked FLAWLESSLY for more than a year. I thought that patch had sorted it because I managed to scan three frames of film without it failing, but the very next attempt hung on calibrating the first frame. moved the scanner to different locations on the desk.*bought a new Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner* and repeated all of the above.downloaded and run an 'El Capitan patch' Epson put out some years ago for similar problems.updated/reinstalled software and drivers. ![]() turned off various equipment including USB hubs.tried different USB ports in different hubs and directly on the M1 MacBook Pro.Whether I use Epson Scan 2 or VueScan, I can never get more than a handful of scans done before either the scan gets stuck at the calibration stage or the software crashes. Since putting everything back I cannot reliably scan anything. On November 27th I disassembled my desk setup, including my Epson Perfection V370 Photo scanner, and assembled my brand new desk.
