We have three praesidia groups which meet in the St. Auxiliary members are the spiritual wing of the apostolate. The active members meet weekly for prayer, planning, and discussion then are assigned two hours of work under the guidance of a spiritual director. There are two types of membership: active and auxiliary. Our works, done in pairs, include following up with new parishioners, visiting the elderly, teaching religious education, assisting with the brown scapular enrollment, offering Sacred Heart enthronements in the home, and bringing the Pilgrim Virgin statue to families (see descriptions below). Active members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. The Legion is, in essence, an extension of the heart and hands of our pastor. Its two-fold purpose is sanctifying its members and advancing the reign of Christ through Our Lady. The Legion of Mary is the largest lay apostolate in the Catholic Church, with well over three million active members in almost every country of the world.
