The rumours related to the iterations we expect from Nintendo, yet so many people, especially those gullible media types now with hurt pride, still think there's substance in the Pro rumours. No! Nintendo has never done this, and never will. There's still this fantasy Nintendo will release a separate beefed up premium model to be sold at a premium price to a niche audience. It's the same with the Switch Pro nonsense. If the Switch 2 isn't ready for spring 2023, then BOTW2 will be delayed again. The OLED meant a Switch successor would be almost another year away, and therefore BOTW2 would be delayed. Why don't Nintendo fans ever learn from history? Recent new Zeldas have been simultaneous releases for the current system and the new system, and that was always likely with BOTW2. Second, Zelda BOTW 2 was never going to be this year once the OLED got launched. It's the politicians' equivalent of "planning". I've been calling bull on this "aiming for late 2022" nonsense since it started. I'll just wait til Nintendo says anything about before jumping on that topic again We've been down that road too many times. And obviously, the wait for the original game is proof they must know what they're doing by delaying it.Īs for the speculation this being delayed for a new Switch model, that's one discussion I don't have the mental bandwidth to go into. That has changed obviously and it doesn't sound like it'll be that much longer from when it was suspected it would be released. Since that time, we got a relatively solid release year at least from the horses mouth. And who knows what this project has turned into from what it started out as ( which we know was exrptra content that became too big to be DLC). No one foresaw then what the next two years would be like. That post was back in June of 2019, a full nine months before crap hit the fan with Covid. Also hoping you can dive underwater in this game. I'll be much less bitter about re-exploring the same land if they're planning to more than double it. A whole underground world where you play as Zelda would be cool. Hoping there's some truth to the duality idea. ![]() ![]() Surely they do, given the development time. Really hoping they have something more up their sleeve as I'm just not that impressed yet. Boloblins have long horns like a unicorn now and can ride on Stone Taluses, the most generic and faceless boss that I've already killed a million of.wow, so exciting. I'm sure there's more surprises in store, but from what they've shown so far, it just sort of looks like a DLC expansion. I just got super burned out on the first Breath of the Wild and at this point am in no hurry to play the sequel. But for me, this is exciting because it means Nintendo pretty much has to release Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD this year, which are my 2 favorite Zelda games. By the looks of it, Nintendo doubled-down on the sense of freedom Breath of the Wild was able to create by adding new mechanics that’ll allow the player to wander around however they like.I hate it's been delayed for the sake of the people who were really looking forward to it this year. However, the destroyed world brings new possibilities, as Link is seen gliding in the wind to reach distant lands, and even reversing gravity to explore this new version of Hyrule. While we still don’t know details about the sequel, the trailer confirms that Ganon’s evil influence threatens Hyrule once again, and this time his dark energy will literally shatter the land. ![]() After that, Nintendo kept silent about the project until 2021’s E3, when the company released a trailer filled with secrets. The sequel to Breath of the Wild was first announced in 2019. That’s also a good sign that Nintendo is focusing its efforts on releasing more titles from their leading franchises in the near future, as the gains coming from games sales could compensate for the losses caused by the lack of stock of the Nintendo Switch console. However, the company renewed its promises to invest more in digital products, which can be developed and released despite the chip shortage. The latest financial report also underlines how the component shortage that every tech company suffers from should extend through the year, with the production of the Nintendo Switch lower than anticipated.
